1| Knitting…
Had to have something on my needles while I wait for the additional yarn for Claire’s Braintree to arrive, so I finally cast on Instant Crush by Joji Locatelli!
It has been in my knitting queue for a bit, so I am super excited to have it on my needles at last! (And yes, I do put ice cubes in my wine in the summer time…)
As is the case with all of Joji’s designs, the pattern is very well written! In fact, the color work is structured so that it is easy to work in Fair Isle techniques with only two colors at a time. The charts are wonderful, and she has provided them for every size of this lovely size-inclusive pattern!
These fall colors are just what I’m craving right now (is anyone else ready for fall?!), and the mohair/silk yarn is totally scrumptious! I am using the yarn called for in the pattern, which is Feather, by Magpie Fibers. The color work is flying by, and I’m hoping to have this one finished in time to enjoy wearing it this fall!
What is currently on your needles? Feel free to share in the comments, we’d love to see pics too! :)
2| Nature & the Pets…
Sunny & Tango would like to know if you would care to join us on our afternoon walk?
Sunny says, “Come along, it’s a beautiful day!”
Tango stops to sniff some leaves…
Hurrying to catch up! Have I mentioned that Tango prefers to be the rear-guard? Sunny and I suspect that he may be slow-rolling it just to flaunt his independence ;)
Uphill is not Sunny’s favorite…
But she does love a good off-trail excursion in a spot of tall grass!
Tango contemplates going into the high grass to play with her….
“Nah. I’ll stay with mommy!”
Exploring a fallen log! If one spots or smells something interesting, the other “must” go and check it out too! :)
Tango has decided that “Paths are for losers.” XD No wonder he comes home with so many burrs in his fur!
Enjoying the sun in the sheltered spot where the path comes out of the woods!
Of course, Tango must maintain his independence by bringing up the rear!
Back at the house, these two are READY for supper!
Cool-downs first, though!
Whew! It was hot out, but that was a good walk! Thanks for coming with us!
3| Funny…
This made me laugh! I am definitely partial to a good cup of coffee in the morning! But I prefer tea in the evening. What about you? Tea? Or Coffee?
5| Great posts I’ve enjoyed this week…
This post about how to effectively pack your knitting for a trip by Mary Annarella of Lyrial Knits was really fun and helpful!
I especially appreciate her balanced view involving only packing a second knitting project if there is space. I always get anxious that I might finish my first project and be left with NOTHING TO KNIT for *however many* days/hours! Mary Annarella some practical tips to help counteract this fear, and she has lots of other good tips and ideas as well!
What are you working on right now? What is bringing you joy and keeping you afloat this week? Feel free to share in the comments, I would love to hear all about it!
Wishing you all a wonderful and restorative weekend.
Happy knitting/crocheting,
~Sarah
I am working on a second sock and it definitely isn't bringing me joy. I love that sweater by Joji Locatelli, it's an absolute dream.
